Corey works better alone, tends to chit-chat, and is little bit of a class clown.
The one that surprised me was "Uses effective delivery" under the speech category. I expected to see a 5 on that. So I asked the teacher, who I adore, and she said that if it was based on vocabulary alone he would have a 6 (which they are not supposed to use at this stage.) But it is also based on completing stories in a fluent manner and he tends to jump around, and seems to let his brain get ahead of his mouth.
The other thing I need to point out is that although he is getting 3's and 4's in reading, he is in the highest reading group, and is one of the only 5 kids in all three 1st grade classes to be in this group.
All in all Corey is doing well, and using the "old school" grading system he is mostly A's with a few B's.
One proud mama signing off!
