Smarty Pants in the 4th grade

Just a quick blog to let you know how Corey is doing in school.
He is getting all A's. He is in advanced 5th grade math, and in January will probably be in 5th grade spelling and reading as well. He is socializing with a larger group of kids, and seems to be much more comfortable this year. His teacher said he is a great kid, a real thinker, and that Corey keeps him on his toes. Corey asks questions that even cause the teacher to pause and take another look. Corey is helpful, sensitive, very logical, and "right/wrong" orentied.
Mr. B is the teacher Corey and I were hoping for, and he seems to be thriving in his class. Corey has faced many changes this year, and there are more to come. But he seems to be adjusting well and infact seems to be happier this year. That does my heart good!

Good things in Vegas

Last weekend, while in Vegas, I was able to be maid of honor at Nicole's wedding, again.
She and TJ renewed their wedding vows for their ten year anniversary. The ceremony was held at the Elvis Chapel of Love. Elvis walked Nicole down the isle while singing "Love me tender" and then proceeded to conduct the wedding ceremony. He sang another Elvis song after the traditional wedding vows, and then had them repeat vows that were specifically created by him. TJ had to promise, among other things, to always be her Hunk-a-Hunk-a-burning love. And Nicole had to promise to never step on his blue suede shoes, or let him buy blue suede shoes. They recorded it on video for the couple, and took still pics. I used Nicoles fancy digital camera to take a ton of pics, and they turned out really great. I have a few from the limo ride that was also included.
It was great to see them and to be apart of the wedding again. It had been four years since I had seen them, and within 10 minutes we were right back into our normal flow. As if no time had passed at all. I guess that means that we are real friends, and are truely comfortable to be ourselves. I adore them and treasured every moment. Especially the bubble bath we all took together. (Don't worry grandma, we were all clothed and only our feet were in the tub!)
I also got to spend some quality time with Nicoles brother Steve and his girlfriend Heidi. Steve is all grown up, but still Geekboy to me. And I would love to hate Heidi because of her long legs and kick'n figure, but she is too damn sweet!
I can not tell you how great it was to spend those short few hours with them.
