Swimmer !!!

Corey had a swim meet this weekend and did an amazing job!!!!
He was gunning for State times. He did even better. He beat the kid that has been trying to beat for some time now, and he made Sectional time for his 50 Fly. That is even better than State time. So he will be competing in the State Championships in Feb and then in Sectional Championships in Washington in March.
It was a beautiful race that had mom in tears,grandma screaming, and grandpa almost dropped the camera in the pool!!!
And to make it even more wonderful, Corey called his uncles and cousins to tell them. They are all planning on coming to see him swim the sectional meet. I can't tell you how much that means to not only Corey, but me as well. A family that is supportive and encouraging makes all the difference in the world to a child. Of course grandpa and grandma will be there. And who ever else wants to join. It will be great to have a family get together.
And the icing on the day, the parents of the boy Corey finally beat, came over with great excitement to congratulate Corey on his sectional time. Corey and this child are old swim mates, on different teams now, but still friends. This boy is very talented as well, making State and Sectional times on a regular basis since he was 5. His parents have said that Corey was a talented swimmer for two years now and have been very encouraging. I very much appreciate that. I hope that Corey and this boy remain friends and fierce competitors for many many years.
