Happiness and Heartbreak !!!

Well after being homeless for almost a week, we have finally found a place and moved in. Sort of. We are half way between storage and moved in. So that is great news. It got real dicey there for a while and I was really miserable.
The new place is smaller, but much much nicer. It is a town house that is only 3 years old. Everything is new and clean. Very nice. It is a cute little place. All three of us like it a great deal.
UNFORTUNEATELY ...
It does not allow pets of any kind. (I will be calling about one of the other tenents that has at least one cat.) Because of this rule and the fact that as hard as we looked we could not find a place that allowed dogs, we are having to give Milo away.
Yes, you heard correctly. After three years, we had to find a new home for Milo. And although I found someone who will in all likelyhood spoil the heck out of him and let Corey visit Milo, Corey is absolutely heart broken. It is by far the most difficult thing he has ever had to deal with and I am hurting for him. I will miss Milo too, but have had several dogs in my life and lost all of them one way or another. This is Corey's first and only and it is very painful for him.
As his mom I wish I could fix it, but I can't. All I could do was find a good home for Milo and try to ensure that Corey would be able to keep in touch with him.
Corey is has been wearing the same shirt for two days now, and will continue to do so he says, so that he can give Milo the shirt that smells like Corey to sleep with. Milo's own special comfort blankie. Now if that isn't enough to make you cry, then trust me, the sound of my son crying himself to sleep each night would. He misses his dog, and will for a very long time.

Shock wave

Yesterday a co-worker died. Her name is Terri. She got sick very quickly and was gone suddenly. Some of the people we work with knew her as many as 20 years. I knew her just over 5 months. She was amazing. So full of spunk. A belly full of fire.
Terri was an amazing employee and a great storey teller. She made me laugh and I really enjoyed working with her. She was kind of a neighbor. We had this thing where I would honk as I drove by her house and the next day she would say, "Heard ya honkin' girl".
In the short 5 months I knew her I came to respect her a great deal and it hit kinda hard when we got the news yesterday. I can't imagine what it is like for those who worked with her for 5 years. It is amazing how much of an impact a co-worker has on the environment.
She will be very greatly missed.
